Covers have moderate age toning, slight edge wear, and slightly bumped tips, else clean and intact. Pages have moderate age toning and slight wear to extremities, else clean and intact. Principally black-and-white plates. Ephemera laid in in back, namely, three loose pages from Harper's Bazaar magazine, part of which comprise an article about Lipchitz (black-and-white illustrations on magazine pages). Beautiful presentation of 16 collotype plates unbound in a hardcover folio. Each of the plates shows a sculpture by artist Jacques Lipchitz. Lipchitz's sculptures often feature semi-abstract, spindly, elongated forms with seemingly sharp spikes, spires, and other visually piercing attributes. A folded leaf of text includes the title, Introductory Note, and List of Plates. Each of the plates has no text except for a Roman numeral corresponding to the List of Plates. The following sculptures by Lipchitz are depicted on the plates: Variation (Plate I), The Promise (Pl. 2-3), Barbara (Pl. 4), The Fiancee (Pl. 5), Yara I (Yara Assise) (Pl. 6), Spring (Pl. 7), Yara II (Yara Debout) (Pl. 8), Album Page (Pl. 9), Myrrah (Pl. 10-11), Innocent Victim (Pl. 12-13), Blossoming (Eclosion) (Pl. 14), and The Pilgrim (Pl. 15-16).
