Cream vellum boards, gilt stamped title to spine, gilt stamped decoration to front panel, minor wear, rubbing, and stray marks to front panel and spine, green marbled endpapers, binding tight, interior clean and unmarked. The Hortulus (My Little Garden) is a 440 line poem by the 9th century Benedictine monk Strabo describing the plants of his garden. A manuscript from 1510 discovered in Vatican archives is reproduced in facsimile and followed by a Latin translation with English on facing pages with charming pale green background illustrations. Number 2 of the Hunt Facsimile Series, limited to 1500 copies. Printed in Holland.
