Text in Japanese and English. Fine green-gray cloth-covered boards, gilt lettering to front, back, and spine. Covers have light age toning and a small bump to tail of spine, else pristine and intact, binding tight, sharp tips. Fine dark blue cloth-covered slipcase, gilt lettering to front, back, and spine. Slipcase pristine and intact. Pages have occasional creases at lower tips of fore-edge, else pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color. Very Good brown outer cardboard sleeve, dark blue lettering on tipped-in light green title label on front, back, and spine. Cardboard sleeve has several wrinkles and moderate wear to extremities, else clean and intact. A beautiful catalogue of works from the Shin'enkan Collection of Joe D. Price and his wife, Etsuko Yoshimochi. The Shin'enkan Collection features Japanese paintings, screens, and scrolls from the Edo period. Principally illustrations with brief title captions. There is also a section about the future (now current) home of the Shin'enkan Collection, the Pavilion of Japanese Art at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). The Pavilion of Japanese Art has since been completed and also houses other Japanese works representing a period from about 3000 BCE to the 20th century CE. Preface by Yuzo Yamane. Essays by Joe D.
