Bilingual text in English and Finnish. Very Good beige cloth-covered boards. Covers have light age toning and slight wear to extremities, else clean and intact. Very Good beige paper dust jacket with black lettering on front and spine and color illustration on front. Dust jacket has a 3 3/4" closed tear in lower corner on front, light to moderate age toning, a few smaller closed tears along edges, and a few small stains, else clean and intact, protected in a paper-backed Mylar sleeve. Pages have light age toning, else pristine and intact. Principally maps in black-and-white and color with brief captions. Beautiful folio-sized book about old maps of Finland. The plates herein illustrate maps of Finland that were originally made by different cartographers over the course of several centuries from the fifteenth century to the eighteenth century. Most of the depicted maps came from the private collection of Isak Gordin.
