Pages pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color. Beautiful exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of a show held at the Secession from May 3-June 17, 2012. The exhibition, Not Moscow Not Mecca, featured the work of the artist collective, Slavs and Tatars, who focuses on dialogues about Central Asian cultures. Slavs and Tatars was founded in 2006 and encompasses a variety of art and artistic disciplines including the visual arts, performance art, poetry, and literature made by different artists. The catalogue features Slavs and Tatars' work specific to the exhibition as well as some of their other work. Part of the exhibition highlighted is an installation artwork composed of fruits indigenous to Central Asia such as the apricot, pomegranate, quince, fig, and melon.
