Hardcover in green cloth with gilt decoration to front panel. Small chips to spine, slightly affecting text, some wear, notable foxing and toning, light interior soiling, 2 ex-libris label pasted to front endpaper and pastedown, along with an original etching, else tightly bound. Includes over 50 black-and-white and color reproductions of illustrations and special plates by Daumier and Gavarni. This special journal compares the lithography work, via wood engraving, of French artists, Honoré Daumier and Paul Gavarni, "with critical and biographical notes by Henri Frantz and Octave Uzanne" (From the title page). The Studio was a London-based magazine focused on fine and decorative arts, that published issues from 1893 to 1964 and brought attention to the Art Nouveau and Art and Crafts movements.
