Notes: Very Good, 4to, 11 3/4" x 9." Bilingual text in German and English. Black paper wrappers with staple binding. Color illustration and black lettering on front. No lettering on spine. Black-and-white illustration on back. Covers have light rubbing, a few tiny bumps along edges, slightly bumped tips, and some wrinkling along spine, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages have minuscule bumping to tips of fore-edge, else pristine and intact. Decorative transparent pages in front and back. Replete with black-and-white illustrations. 20 pp., including illustrations. Published on the occasion of an exhibition of artwork by Valie Export (b. 1940), an Austrian artist perhaps best-known for her performance art and multimedia installations. She has worked with film, video, computer animation, photography, and sculpture. Many of her artworks have a feminist message and address discrimination against women in postwar Austria. Like many of her other works, the art depicted herein is about female body image and features a diversity of media such as computer-generated imagery, photography, prints, silk fabric, and mirrors. The exhibition was called _Lesen Durch Objekte_ (_Reading Through Objects_) and showed at Galerie Grita Insam in Vienna from 1990-1991.
