Very Good black and teal pictorial paper wrappers. White lettering on spine. Covers have light to moderate wear to extremities and several small scratches and marks on front and back, else clean and intact, binding tight. Pages pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations, most in black-and-white, a few in color. Exhibition catalogue published on the occasion of a show of the same name that was held at the Detroit Institute of the Arts from July 12-August 21, 1980 and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston from September 11-October 23, 1980. This catalogue features the unique printmaking process called "cliché-verre" and examines the use of the medium from 1839 to the present (1980). Cliché-verre involves using photosensitive paper to print an image from a transparent surface, such as a glass plate.
