Notes: Very Good, RARE, 9" x 12." Beige paper folding brochure with black lettering and black-and-white illustration on front panel. No lettering to spine. Brochure has browning, slight surface chipping on front and back panels, slight chipping along edges, and a few splits along folds (largest measures 1 1/2"), else clean and intact. Text and illustrations are unaffected by damage except for browning. Black-and-white illustrations included. RARE in the trade. Unpaginated, c. eight pages (one leaf folded into quarters and printed on all sides). Unique folding brochure published on the occasion of an exhibition featuring the Verifax Collages of Wallace Berman that was held at the Jewish Museum in New York from September 17-November 17, 1968. The show was directed by Kynaston L. McShine. Wallace "Wally" Berman (1926-1976) was an American artist who specialized in collage, assemblage, and experimental filmmaking. The artworks in Berman's Verifax Collage series were made using a Verifax machine and feature a hand holding different objects and imagery. Five of the eight panels of this brochure show illustrations of Berman's Verifax Collages. Brief essay, "Wallace Berman and Collage Verite," by James Monte printed on back panel. One of the interior panels lists brief biographical information about Berman, a list of Berman's shows, works cited, and a 20-item Catalogue of the Exhibition.
