Notes: Fine, 4to, 8 1/4" x 11 3/4." No date, circa 1980s. Brown paper wrappers with no lettering on spine. Book comes with original light beige textured paper folder with four folding flaps. Black lettering, embossed lettering, and gilt Japan Air Lines emblem on front of folder. Covers pristine and intact, binding tight, sharp tips. Folder has some age toning and slight wear to extremities, else clean and intact. Pages pristine and intact. Replete with illustrations in black-and-white and color. Unpaginated, 36 pp., including illustrations. Beautiful book about Utagawa Hiroshige's famous series of ukiyo-e prints, _The Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Road_ (also known as _The Fifty-three Stages of the Tokaido Road_). Hiroshige made this series after traveling on Japan's famous road himself. He made many variations on the subject, but the Hoeido Edition (1833-1834) is the best-known. Catalog provides small illustrations of all 53 prints in black-and-white. A few of the 53 prints are also presented as full-page color illustrations.
